IDUG NA 2009 $250 Free Gas Winner

This year at IDUG in Denver Colorado, DBI continued its tradition of being GREEN by not printing, shipping, and distributing product literature at the conference. Instead, attendees who visited our booth were given a small business card that invited them to register to win $250 Free Gas and, in the same process, gain immediate access to DBI PDF product literature.

We are pleased to announce the winner at this time, in this forum.

But first, we'd like to bring to your attention some very exciting news. DBI recently worked closely with the San Mateo IBM Innovation Center to demonstrate the ripple effect benefits of database tuning and optimization. In a short video, you can see how we achieved breakthrough performance results that lower energy costs, reduce slow response times to 18/10,000's of a second, demonstrate over 200X scalability, and show how to save millions on hardware and software license costs. Please learn more about our exciting results obtained:

The winner of the $250 Free Gas is Jeff Boggess at North Carolina Farm Bureau. Jeff will receive his winnings paid in the format of an American Express gift card - so, really, he can spend his windfall on anything he wants instead of gas for his car.

Congratulations Jeff! And hey, if you are reading this now and going to an Oracle or IBM database conference this fall, look for DBI's booth and pay us a visit!

Cheers,
Scott

IBM IOD 2008 Free Gas Winner Announcement

We're helping so many organizations save cash, cut expenses, and improve performance this week that we need to postpone announcing the IBM IOD 2008 Free Gas Winner until Monday 10 November 2008. We apologize for the delay, but we think you'll agree that rescuing our economy one customer at a time takes higher priority. Meanwhile, the US mint is investigating DBI - rumor has it we are printing cash for our customers. Well, we figure if the US Government can bail out organizations in distress, then why shouldn't we help out too?

Best regards,
Scott

It's HOT in Austin Texas

And things are heating up at DBI too. Hundreds of BMC SmartDBA, DBXray, SQL Explorer, and Space Manager customers have begun their migration to DBI's replacement upgrade products, while still several new customers are achieving performance successes that they previously had no idea were possible.

Since it is too hot outside, our development team has been working overtime to create and deliver updates to DBI's Brother-Panther Collector, plus Design Advisor integration enhancements and patches. The updated Collector is much more efficient and uses less CPU - registered users can download this now.

During the next few weeks, DBI will be releasing a new product that addresses several customer and market requirements. We're quite excited about it, but it is too soon to spoil the surprise. Later this fall, DBI will be working on enhancements, and new platform and OS support, for our Oracle performance products, as well as continuing progress on Brother-RAID™.

In cooperation with IDUG, DBI is hosting DB2 LUW Performance Webinars later this month for the Asia/Pacific region, and again in September and October for North, Central, and South America, plus Europe. You can also find DBI at Oracle Open World and IBM Information on Demand. Check our Events page for details.

That's a quick DBI update for now. Stop back and visit again soon.

Cheers,
Scott
