Keep your skills sharp and your databases optimized - attend IDUG Europe in Rome to advance your career, learn the latest DB2 tips, tricks, and techniques, and improve your business performance. Visit the IDUG Europe web site for details! And be sure to sign up for my Ed Seminar "300 Fast Fabulous DB2 Facts and Performance Tips"!
I have been a supporter of IDUG since the very first conference in 1988, or was in 1989 - can't remember, it was a long time ago.

I'll tell you what I like about IDUG. It is a non-profit group dedicated to helping the DB2 community. It is run by volunteers - DB2 professionals like you. When you attend, you can learn from people who have "been there - done that" and fought the hard battles so that you don't have to. I am particularly fond of attending sessions presented by real DB2 users and independent consultants - you can learn about what really works and what doesn't.

And, unlike other conferences dominated by presenters from a single company, IDUG is not a heavy marketing pitch. It is a great place to network and learn.

Finally, IDUG needs you. The IDUG Europe conference is looking for volunteers to moderate sessions. It is easy. All you have to do is introduce the speakers, remind everyone of a few simple rules, and count the number of people in the room. So if you are able to attend IDUG, please volunteer to moderate a session.

Whether or not you are able to attend IDUG, be sure to visit DBI's EVENTS page to discover all of the FREE DB2 education events that we are running.

Kind regards,
Scott
