Maria Schwenger is a member of the Competitive Software & Power Systems team at IBM, North America, where she works in a “high touch” model with early release participants to promote the newest IBM and DB2 Technologies, their early adoption, feedback and references on pre-released products, and enablement of applications written for competitive databases on to DB2. In the last 3 years, Maria specialized in architecture and implementation of active-active high availability database solutions utilizing DB2 pureScale feature. Currently, Maria works with customers on adoption of PureApplication System as part of the newest IBM offering of Expert Integrated Systems. Maria has over 15 years experience in performance engineering, database architecture, administration and development on DB2, Oracle and MS SQL server as well as extensive experience in migration from legacy systems to relational databases. She is an author of articles, presentations, tutorials, and IBM Redbook about DB2 9.7 SQL Compatibility feature and DB2 pureScale.
