My dad died June 10, 2011, around 1:45pm CDT. I learned of this via text message at the Minneapolis St. Paul airport. While this may not seem relevant to "DB2" at the moment, my dad made many contributions to our DB2 LUW community. This blog is a toast to my dad, your dad, and anyone out there who has a dad. Adding insult to injury, I stepped on our new Wii Balance Board and our Wii Fit Plus game verified I was overweight. You can argue (unsuccessfully) with your wife, but you can't argue with a game. There was only one thing I could do. I started running my butt off. By April 2010, I weighed 180LBs and ran in my first 10K race. In September 2010, I ran in the Philadelphia Half Marathon. By the end of 2010, I logged just over 500 miles for the year. Last month, April 2011, I ran in the Nashville Half Marathon. I've had a lot of time to think about how tuning "me" is like tuning DB2...
