#1 FAQ: How much will the FREE migration licenses cost?
Answer: The product licenses are FREE for BMC customers with current maintenance. However, BMC also requires that migrating customers sign a new Software License, Maintenance, and Support agreement with DBI. Contracts require that both parties provide something of value. The license transfer thus occurs via an extended maintenance agreement. DBI provides maintenance and support. Your organization provides money to DBI via extended maintenance. After you register with DBI, a DBI representative or partner will contact you for your environment details and prepare a quote.

#2 FAQ: Can the BMC SmartDBA for Oracle products be used concurrently with the DBI products?
Answer: Except for
Brother-Eagle Enterprise Edition for Oracle (the DBXray replacement), no. The Customer should un-install BMC SmartDBA products in a TEST environment, then install DBI
Brother-Wolf and/or Brother-Owl in TEST to verify functionality and usability. Once testing is complete, remove BMC SmartDBA products from PRODUCTION and install DBI products in their place.
Brother-Panther and Brother-Thoroughbred for DB2 LUW can be used concurrently with SmartDBA for DB2 UDB, although we can't imagine why anyone would want to do so.
