Austin, TX (May 30, 2008) - Database-Brothers, Inc. (DBI) today introduced new database auditing capabilities by extending the rich features, platform, and database support of its US Patent Pending Brother-WatchDog® database security and auditing solution.
Release 1.4 extends Brother-WatchDog to fully support auditing of Oracle 11g, 10g, and 9.2 databases, plus optionally allows Oracle customers to store their audit data in an Oracle Repository with digital signatures, or tamper evident seals, to harden the audit data. Adding additional flexibility, the Oracle Repository can be installed on Windows servers, Red Hat Linux 5 Servers, and most UNIX systems.
In the wake of IBM's recent DB2 V8.2, V9.1, and V9.5 fixpacks that address security vulnerabilities, Brother-WatchDog has been updated and certified to work with the most current versions and patch levels of DB2 on distributed platforms. And, following suit with Oracle Repository support, the DB2 Repository can now be installed on Windows servers, Red Hat Linux 5, and most UNIX systems.
Brother-WatchDog continues its industry leadership for tracking the identities and activities of individual web application users, plus reporting on activities of privileged DBA users, administrators, and query users. An auditor or security professional can easily identify who did what from where and when, and obtain reports in CSV, HTML, and now PDF formats, plus receive alerts for targeted activities if desired.
