Dear BMC Customer,

For those of you unfamiliar with DBI, let me take a moment to introduce our company and the extremely seasoned group of professionals I have the pleasure to work with each day.

Database-Brothers, Inc. is a highly specialized company focused exclusively on database performance and auditing. We have deep knowledge and understanding of the database market, and collectively offer more than 80 years of in-depth DB2 UDB and Oracle experience.

We have a long history with BMC Software and clearly understand their customer’s needs. In addition to working behind the scenes to support BMC DBXray for Oracle, SQL Explorer for Oracle, and Space Manager for Oracle customers over the past two years, we are fortunate to have a number of former BMC employees on our team. This provides us with unique insight into the aforementioned BMC product solutions. We have taken the knowledge we’ve gained over the years to create three upgrade offerings for current BMC customers who have licensed these products.

DBI is working closely with BMC to ensure the migration process is a positive experience for customers. For example, upgrade solutions Brother-Eagle, Brother-Owl, and Brother-Wolf will retain the rich analytics associated with DBXray, SQL Explorer, and Space Manager, respectively, and provide familiar user interfaces. More importantly, DBI is advancing the products to support new Oracle Versions, Releases, and Patches plus adding additional OS platform support. This free license migration program provides a great opportunity for BMC Customers to protect the value of investments made in initial product license costs plus any pre-paid maintenance paid to BMC prior to April 30, 2008. With this program, DBI's Brother-Owl™ and Brother-Wolf™ can be obtained for as little as $77.36 USD per month per CPU core, with a typical initial support contract running 7-18 months. Brother-Eagle™ desktop licenses can be obtained for as little as $11.89 USD per month. The unpleasant alternative to this program may involve multiple tool evaluations, bids, and possible capital expenditures of $6,000-$9,000 per CPU core plus $1,200-$1,800 for Software Update & License Support costs. Migrating your licenses to DBI's Oracle solutions protects the value of the investments your organization has already made, plus keeps your operating costs low.
